If I you have something to say, now you can broadcast it for anyone to hear! Podcasting is immensely popular with more than a half a million to choose from and more being added everyday! If you are not familiar with podcasting, think of it as a personalized radio show, although some podcasts stream video too. So, why am I putting my voice out there? Because I like how this technology connects people by sharing ideas, experiences, advice and more! My oldest daughter in her early 20s introduced me to the allure of podcasting. It’s simple, pick a topic, download and then listen or view on your schedule! It is customization at its best. I am a “regular” on the “Not So Small Business Podcast” hosted by entrepreneur Todd Barnes. I enjoy asking the questions but in one of the recent editions, I was the one awkwardly answering them. My topic is what I call my “Entry to Entrepreneurship What Pushed Me to Start a Business.” Most people plan, dream and strategize before starting a business. Others fall into it. For me, it was more of a push from corporate America. A job loss started my journey as a small business owner! Like a newborn fawn, I am still walking on wobbly legs, but I am figuring it out! Check out the clip showing some of what I had to say about the lessons learned so far. (And, I am just months in to this new venture) You will notice, I seem a little distracted because I am! And, here’s why: as I am trying to complete my thoughts I am seeing texts and phone calls popping up on my iPhone while it is recording video for the podcast video stream! I realized then I need some of my own media coaching!
